VNAO 120th Anniversary Celebration Activities
Can you believe we are celebrating our 120th anniversary in 2022?
VNAO is one of the oldest charities in Cleveland and has been providing healthcare in the comfort of home longer than any other organization in Northern Ohio.
To jump-start our celebration of our 120th year, we sponsored Santa's Sleigh at Crocker Park. Many of you were there and took your picture at the sleigh or with Santa – thanks so much for coming out!
To thank our wonderful staff for all of their hard work we hope to have as many staff appreciation events/items as possible in 2022.
In January we celebrated with a cookie designed especially for us – managers delivered the cookies or staff came in to pick them up. Many thanks to the “Cookie Lady”, Paula Shaw and Anne Simmons for coordinating!
In February/March, we are celebrating our awesome staff with a $25 gift certificate to Giant Eagle!

Fairways to Caring Golf Tournament
We are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio’s (“VNAO”) “Fairways to Caring” golf event to be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Red Tail Golf Club in Avon, Ohio! Registrations will open April 4, 2022.
Philanthropic support is vital for us to tackle unmet health and human service needs in our community. Last year, with your support, we raised over $80,000!! With proceeds from the golf outing we will increase quality of life for the sick and help end health disparities among people of various economic and demographic backgrounds.

We Care Campaign
As you may know, the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio’s (“VNAO”) organizational theme is “Caring Together.” We care together when we care “with” the patient, their physician, their caregiver, and their family so that the patient succeeds in reaching the very best health outcome possible, all in the comfort and safety of their home.
We are blessed to be able to work in a field that we love while also serving our community at the same time. It makes us feel proud when someone is feeling better and can return to their lives because of the care we provided.
But at VNAO, we go that extra mile – we support our fellow caregivers and patients by offering them extra help in their time of need. To an employee who has had a house fire and needs basic items and clothing - to a patient that doesn’t have the money to get a prescription filled - we care together and offer support through our We Care Fund. Usually in March of each year we hold an employee campaign to replenish our We Care Fund. This year the We Care Campaign will be held in September.
We utilize this fund not only to help with emergencies during the year, but also to support our Seasons of Hope Campaign at the end of the year – 50% of the monies in the fund at the end of the year can be allocated to Seasons of Hope. This helps make sure that our neediest patients have gifts for their children and can celebrate with their loved ones during the holidays. In 2021 we were able to adopt eight families! Treasures of Cleveland 2022
Treasures of Cleveland, which has been on hold since the Pandemic, will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Gordon Green in Tremont, Ohio.
At this event VNAO celebrates the people, organizations and places that are treasures of Cleveland and VNAO. In 2022 we will honor longtime supporter and Board member Paula Shaw and her husband, Hewitt, along with our Corporate Community Partner of the Year - Busch Funeral and Crematory Services. The caterer for the event will be Spice Catering Company and the Cleveland Keys will be presenting our entertainment for the night with dueling pianos. It is sure to be a great time!
