FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 17, 2021

VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION OF OHIO RECEIVES GRANT TO IMPROVE HOME-BASED MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE

Three Arches Foundation Grant Provides for Unique Home-Based Care Opportunities
CLEVELAND, OH: The Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio (VNAO), a home-based services provider in 9 Ohio counties, has received a $119,514 grant from the Three Arches Foundation (TAF), a 501(c)(3) public charity that invests in advancing the health and well-being of people of Lakewood and surrounding communities through grant making.

The TAF grant to VNAO provides a unique home-based opportunity for individuals facing mental and behavioral health challenges through the newly created Collaborate, Advocate, Redefine and Educate (CARE) Program. Using a single team approach with a customized plan, patients will benefit from coordinated services and enhanced communications with healthcare providers to decrease hospitalizations and provide the necessary tools and resources needed for compassionate home care.

On the receipt of the grant, VNAO President Lisa Von Lehmden Zidek said, “This grant allows clinicians to use innovative technologies to change the way we deliver mental and behavioral health care. This will be a catalyst for positive change in Northeast Ohio and the western suburbs of Cleveland.” Zidek continued, “We are grateful for the partnership with the Three Arches Foundation and for recognizing the critical need for a program of this magnitude in our communities.”

VNAO Mental/Behavioral Health Program Manager Amy Silbaugh said, “Wrapping these services around patients in their home environment will be a game changer for how we provide care for people with severe mental illness. This program will reduce hospitalizations, improve stability in the community, and offer our patients a better quality of life.”
