Our Leadership

claire_photoClaire M. Zangerle, MSN, MBA, RN
President and Chief Executive Officer

Claire Zangerle brings a wealth of clinical experience and innovative business practices to her role as President and CEO of the VNA of Ohio. She oversees a $55 million budget and over 600 employees with an open-door policy that encourages enthusiasm and commitment to the organization’s important mission. Prior to joining the VNA of Ohio, Claire was Chief Nursing Officer at the Cleveland Clinic. She has been awarded the Ohio Nurse Leader Award from the Ohio Association of Advanced Nurse Practitioners and has been recognized as a Woman of Note in Crain’s Cleveland Business. She is on the Board of Directors of The MetroHealth Foundation, Dress for Success Cleveland and The Greater Cleveland Healthcare Association. She is a member of the Circle of Red Society of the American Heart Association and serves on the Editorial Board of Nursing Spectrum Magazine and Nursing Management Journal. Claire has a BS in Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M University and an AD in Nursing from Houston Baptist University. She earned her MBA from Lake Erie College and her MSN from Kent State University.

Chief Development Officer

As the Chief Development Officer, Catherine Ciha identifies, solicits and cultivates philanthropy and oversees the annual fund, planned giving and grant management programs. She also assists the advancement team with special events. Catherine joined the VNA of Ohio with an extensive background in fund development for healthcare organizations. She has a BA from Kent State University and a Master’s degree in Not-For-Profit Administration and Leadership from Cleveland State University. Catherine is a board member of the Ohio Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.

Chief Financial Officer

Mario Danese is responsible for accounting operations and controls, including financial policy, reporting and forecasting. He manages the banking, bond and capital market relationships, as well as provides strategic planning, risk management and operational support. With the VNA for 12 years, he has over 27 years experience in the field of accounting and finance, 19 of those years in the healthcare field. Mario has a BS from The University of Akron and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College. A certified CPA, he is on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Educational Credit Union.

 

michelleMichelle B. Gillcrist, J.D.
Chief Government Relations Officer

Michelle B. Gillcrist joined the VNA of Ohio in early 2009 as the organization’s first Director of Government Relations and Community Advocacy, and she is responsible for directing and coordinating all legislative and grassroots activities impacting home health care for the VNA of Ohio. Formerly Director of Community Outreach for the Cleveland Clinic, Michelle brings more than 15 years of experience in government relations and policy development, including eight years as the Regional Director for U.S. Senator Mike DeWine. Recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business 40 Under Forty, she received her JD from Case Western Reserve University and her BA and MA from John Carroll University. 

 

sallySally Moennich, MBA, RN
Chief of Clinical Partnerships

As Chief of Clinical Partnerships, Sally Moennich is responsible for developing,
managing and promoting recognized partnerships between the VNA of Ohio and clinical entities. A nurse for 28 years, Sally has been employed by the VNA of Ohio for over 20 years and has served the organization in many diverse roles, including Director Home Health, Director Mental Health, and Executive Director of Home Assist. Sally is an RN with a BS from Ursuline College and an MBA from Cleveland State University. In 2008, she received the Visiting Nurse Association of America Manager of the Year Award.

 

teammpaschkephotoSusan M. Paschke, MSN, RN-BC, NEA-BC
Chief Clinical and Quality Officer

Susan Paschke was appointed the VNA of Ohio’s first Chief Quality Officer in early 2009, charged with implementing strategies for improving overall organizational quality and exceeding patient expectations. Susan has a background in accreditation, performance improvement, and staff development, and has taught courses and written articles on those topics. She joined the VNA after a 24-year career with the Cleveland Clinic, most recently as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer for Operations. Susan is an RN who has a BS in Psychology from Cleveland State University and a BS and MSN from Kent State University. She was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing, from which she received the 2007 Leadership Excellence Award and the 2008 President’s Above and Beyond Award.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Chief Human Resources Officer Lynn Sargi oversees strategies and programs in the areas of employment and staffing, organizational and human resource development, compensation and benefits, and safety and legal compliance. Prior to joining the VNA of Ohio, Lynn was Vice President of Human Resources at The Cleveland Foundation. She is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Lynn has a BA from Notre Dame College of Ohio and has completed coursework towards her Master’s degree from John Carroll University. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Centers for Dialysis Care and HELP Foundation, Inc. and serves as the VNA’s representative for the Commission on Economic Inclusion.

Chief Informatics Officer

Teresa (Terri) Wimms brings a wealth of health care and business experience to her position overseeing the Information Technology department at the VNA of Ohio, responsible for the development and administration of information systems, data processing and telecommunications. The former Director of Nursing Informatics at the Cleveland Clinic, Terri has over 20 years of clinical, business and healthcare technology experience for organizations including Hewlett-Packard, Philips Medical Systems and Cisco Systems. She is an RN who has a Bachelor’s education from Case Western Reserve University, at which she is finalizing the completion of her MSN in Informatics.
