CLEVELAND, Ohio (November 8, 2017) – Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio home aides were recognized at the second annual Sondra Comella Kindness Award Ceremony on Wednesday morning. Each year, home health aides who have gone above and beyond the call of duty are presented with the Sondra Comella Kindness Award, which includes a $250 cash prize.
“You are driven to make lives better through treatment and compassion,” Angela Daugherty, RN, Associate Director of VNA of Ohio’s Home Assist to participants. “We recognize you for your dedicated, reliable services to VNA.”
This year’s recipients include:
During the breakfast ceremony, participants shared anecdotes about watching football games with clients on their day off, taking phone calls from clients at all hours and supporting clients who currently receive 24/7 care. Combined, the recipients have an impressive 100 years of service to VNA of Ohio clients.
The award was established in 2016 and given annually to VNA employees who provide outstanding care. To be eligible, employees must have worked at VNA of Ohio for at least one year, working full time hours, up-to-date continuing education and up-to-date compliance, not on disciplinary action and no attendance issues.
