In the 21st century, we are able to live longer than ever thanks to medical advancements. But are we prospering or suffering? Join us for a continuing education presentation that explores what it means to "live long and prosper" and how, as clinicians, we can address misinformation and misconceptions related to hospice care to promote the end of a natural life in a way that puts patients at the center of what we do.
After the presentation, participants will be able to identify misconceptions around hospice care; identify their own self-bias related to hospice care; evaluate situations and discern potentially incorrect information by applying knowledge of the philosophy of hospice care; identify educational strategies and resources to help the patients and the community at large understand and utilize hospice care; and communicate pertinent information to an interdisciplinary team and patients and their families.
