CLEVELAND, Ohio (September 29, 2017) – This past week, Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio joined the national initiative to provide resources for patients, family members, and clinicians to help prevent falls.
According to the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Hospital Association, falls are the leading cause of injury-related emergency department visits, hospitalizations and deaths for Ohioans aged 65 and older. Fatal and medically-treated falls represent only a proportion of all falls among older adults. Falls have significant consequences on quality of life.
VNA of Ohio has compiled a list of helpful resources from experts, including risk factors and how to prevent falls.
VNA of Ohio joined New Jersey-based VNA Health Group in 2017 to advance high-quality and innovative home-based care services. For more information, or to find services in NJ, visit their website at www.vnahg.org.
