August 1, 2013 – Cleveland, OH – Community home healthcare organization, Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio (VNA of Ohio) announces their partnership with small local business, Assured Medical Alliance (AMA), to provide patients with high-quality homecare and telemonitoring technology.
Today, approximately 100 million Americans suffer from one or more chronic diseases, including heart failure, lung disease and diabetes. Telemonitoring equipment is used to help chronic disease patients with daily monitoring of vital signs, such as pulse, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, or blood oxygen levels. AMA will install and maintain monitors while VNA of Ohio staff will teach patients how to use the technology correctly, which will assist their healthcare provider in more effectively managing the patients’ health. In addition, telemonitoring is a tool to help patients improve symptoms, maintain their independence and ultimately reduce re-hospitalization and emergency room visits.
“This partnership will make our staff more efficient, thereby allowing us to spend more time delivering highquality patient care”, says VNA of Ohio President and CEO, Claire M. Zangerle. “During their presentation, I found AMA to be a good match with the mission of VNA of Ohio and our commitment to serving patients wherever they call home.”
AMA is a recent Northeast Ohio start-up business. “As such, it’s often hard to find someone willing to take a chance, but I believe that we have proven our knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm to Ms. Zangerle”, says AMA CEO, Michael A.
