CLEVELAND, Ohio (January 19, 2018) –Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Ohio’s Board of Directors has announced recent appointments, including Thomas M. Seay of Hartland who will serve as the Board Chair. Seay has been a member of the VNA of Ohio Board for over five years and was the most recent Treasurer. Members of the Board will also welcome longtime Cleveland Clinic executive Fred M. DeGrandis, who will be the Vice Chair.
“Tom Seay has been at the helm of the Board of Directors since August, 2017, and has led us through new partnership and identified great new opportunities for VNA,” said Lisa Kristosik, Chief Operating Officer at VNA of Ohio. “We are also pleased to welcome Fred DeGrandis, a leader in Cleveland healthcare. He will be an excellent addition to our Board and embodies the mission and values of VNA.”
Seay has been the Chair of VNA of Ohio’s Board of Directors since August, 2017 and has been a member of the Board since 2013. As the Managing Director for Investment Research at Hartland, he has extensive experience in leading high performance teams to effectively deliver competitive investment returns. He has been with Hartland since 2012. Prior to Hartland, he worked as Chief Investment Officer at Victor Capital Management.
A graduate of University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and University of Denver, Seay current resides in Shaker Heights.
A newcomer to VNA of Ohio’s Board of Trustees, DeGrandis is an experienced senior executive with over 30 years of healthcare experience and successful leadership. He was the first president and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic’s nine Regional Community Hospitals. He has experience in hospital systems, health care systems, physician groups and community and civic organizations. He has served as an executive in all major non for profit health systems in the greater Cleveland area and has extensive experience in international operations.
DeGrandis currently serves as a Board and Trustee member for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Global, the ALS Association, the Cleveland Clinic, Fairview Hospital, North Coast Health, The Ohio Hospital Association Innovation Institute, and The Community West Foundation. He is the Chair of the Cleveland American Heart Association Board of Trustees and Vice Chair of the Catholic Community Foundation.
He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his law degree from Cleveland State University’s John Marshall College of Law. DeGrandis is a lifelong resident of Cleveland.
Rufus Heard, Senior Vice President at Citizens Bank will be the Treasurer of VNA of Ohio’s Board of Directors. Barbara Walker, PhD., of PolyOne Corp will continue to serve as Secretary of the Board.
VNA of Ohio’s Board of Directors provides strategic direction and raises philanthropic support for the organization. Board Members include leaders from Northeast Ohio's medical, business, and volunteer communities help carry out VNA’s mission.
