CLEVELAND, Ohio (November 4, 2016) – Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Ohio has announced the appointment of James Schaum as Interim Chief Executive Officer for the organization. Schaum joined as Interim CEO of VNA in October, 2016, after serving on the VNA Mid-Ohio Advisory Board since 2006, as the Mid-Ohio Advisory Board Chair and as a VNA of Ohio Board Member for the last two years as well.
In his new role, Schaum will lead the organization’s more than 500 employees in Cleveland and Mid-Ohio in providing the best homecare for VNA patients and their families during this period of transition. VNA of Ohio has delivered quality care to area patients and their families since 1902. It is the largest independent nonprofit home health and hospice provider in Ohio.
Schaum has also been a member of the VNA of Ohio’s Finance Committee. He has also held other leadership positions as the COO of Adena Health System, CEO of Allen Memorial Hospital, The Rehab Center and others. Schaum graduated from WVU School of Pharmacy and has his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from The Ohio State University.

A West Salem, Ohio native, Schaum and his wife live in the Mansfield area.
