Donating

Many patients, their families, and friends have expressed their appreciation to the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio for the wonderful care they or a loved one have received by making a donation to the VNA. Some find it a wonderful way to honor or remember someone special.

All the charitable gifts we receive make it possible for us to continue to provide compassionate, high quality home healthcare and to fulfill our mission of extending that care to those in need in Northeast and Central Ohio. Become a part of helping others in our community through your generous support of the VNA. You can make a difference in the lives of so many.

The most popular ways to contribute are by cash, check or credit card.

OTHER WAYS TO DONATE

Memorial Gifts
A memorial gift to the VNA is given in memory of a loved one. The person or family you designate will receive notification of your contribution (with no amount mentioned), and you will receive a receipt for your tax deductible gift. Many people choose to make memorial gifts every year in memory of their loved one or to commemorate a special occasion.

In Honor Gifts
In honor gifts are a thoughtful way to observe someone’s birthday, anniversary or special occasion.

Bequests
You might want to join our many friends who have helped through bequests – gifts through their wills or living trusts. Gifts through your will or trust can be a particular item, dollar amount or a residual percentage of your estate.

Life Insurance
You can name the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio as the primary or secondary beneficiary of a life insurance policy. The tax savings can be substantial.

Gifts of Appreciated Stocks, Mutual Funds or Real Property
When you donate securities, donors can deduct not just the original cost but also any “paper profit” present in the gift, and there are no capital gains taxes due . Real estate, mutual funds and other types of property offer the same advantages.

Charitable Gift Annuities
Gift Annuities offer significant benefits such as a new source of guaranteed lifetime income, some tax-free; guaranteed security and a high return; a charitable income tax deduction; partial savings on capital gains tax if you give appreciate stocks; reduced estate taxes and probate costs; and the opportunity to give a larger gift than you thought you could afford.
