|Breast Cancer: The Power Of Detection (7:30 AM)
Susan G. Komen® Northeast Ohio and Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio present continuing education conference, “Breast Cancer: The Power of Detection", for healthcare professionals.
According to the American Cancer Society, about 40,000 women and more than 400 men will die from breast cancer each year in the U.S.
Upon conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to:
- Describe the current breast cancer screening guidelines
- Assist patients with asking pertinent breast cancer related questions to their healthcare provider
- Identify local community resources for free or low-cost mammograms
The free conference will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at VNA of Ohio, 2500 East 22nd Street, Cleveland, Ohio.

|Compassion Fatigue: Caring For The Professional Caregiver (7:30 AM)
Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio and Life Care Center of Elyria present a free continuing education conference for healthcare professionals: "Compassion Fatigue: Caring for the Profesional Caregiver" presented by Amy Silbaugh, RN, BSN, Clinical Manager of VNA of Ohio Mental Health services.
Free 1.0 credit hour for Nursing and Social Work
Compassion Fatigue can lead healthcare pfoessionals, or any caregiver, to feel sadness and despair impacting thei rhealth and well-being. We're all vulnerable to this stress, which can interfere with our personal lives as well as our professional ones. Together, we will explore: the meaning of compassion fatigue, its signs and symptoms, how it impacts our lives, ways to help refresh our minds, bodies and spirits, and how to balance life and work.
